1. Georges Elhedery

Job from: Group CFO, HSBC

Job to: Group CEO, HSBC

Georges Elhedery

HSBC has appointed Georges Ehledery its new Group CEO. He began the role on 2 September having been CFO of HSBC since January 2023.

Elhedery began his career at Banque Paribas in Tokyo 1997, then worked for Goldman Sachs, before joining HSBC in 2005 as a global markets executive. 

2. Philip Jansen

Job from: CEO, BT Group 

Job to: WPP Chairman

Philip Jansen

WPP appointed Philip Jansen, former CEO of BT Group, as its new chairman in July. 

Jansen has previously been CEO of Worldpay, CEO and chairman of Brakes Group and held a variety of positions at Sodexo Group.

Kelly Ortberg

Job from: Special advisor to the office of the chairman and CEO, United Tech

Job to: President and CEO, Boeing 

Kelly Ortberg

Kelly Ortberg became president and CEO of Boeing on 8 August. He was previously head of Rockwell Collins, a Boeing supplier.

Ortberg began his career at Texas Instruments before joining Rockwell Collins in 1987, where he became president and CEO in 2013. 

In 2020 he was appointed special advisor to the office of the chairman and CEO at United Tech. 

Laurent Freixe

Job from: Latin America Executive vice president & CEO, Nestlé

Job to: Global CEO, Nestlé

Laurent Freixe

On 1 September Laurent Freixe became the new global CEO of Nestlé, replacing Mark Schneider who stepped down as CEO and member of the board of directors after eight years.

Freixe has worked at Nestlé since 1986, where he worked for Nestlé France.

He joined the S.A. executive board in 2008 as executive vice president of Europe Zone and in 2014 he was appointed CEO of Zone Americas, the largest region for Nestlé. 

Andrew Keith

Job from: CEO, Selfridges

Job to: TBC

Selfridges announced Andrew Keith’s departure as CEO in August. 

Keith began working at Selfridges in 2020, where he quickly ascended to the role of CEO in February 2021. 

Before working at Selfridges, Keith was president of the Lane Crawford and Joyce Group, where he worked for almost 20 years. He started his career at G2000 and U2.

André Maeder, CEO of parent company Selfridges Group, will replace Keith as the store CEO in addition to his existing responsibilities as CEO of the wider Selfridges brand.

Joshua Schulman

Job from: CEO, Michael Kors (2021-2022)

Job to: CEO and executive director, Burberry 

Joshua Schulman

Joshua Schulman has joined Burberry as its new CEO and executive director in July after Jonathan Akeroyd stepped down with immediate effect.

Schulman, who will be Burberry’s fourth CEO in 10 years, brings a wealth of experience to the role: he was previously CEO of fashion brands Michael Kors, Coach and Jimmy Choo.

Yannick Fierling 

Job from: Europe CEO, Haier Corporation

Job to: President and CEO, Electrolux Group 

Yannick Fierling

Electrolux Group has appointed Yannick Fierling as president and CEO from 1 January 2025. 

Fierling has been Europe CEO of Haier Corporation since 2015 and has over 20 years of experience in the household appliances industry. 

Richard Oldfield

Job from: CFO Schroders

Job to: Group CEO Schroders

Richard Oldfield

Richard Oldfield has been promoted from CFO to CEO of Schroders having only joined the company last October.

He previously worked at PwC for almost 30 years where he held a variety of senior roles, including global markets leader. 

Oldfield will assume his position as Group CEO on 8 November, at which point current CEO Peter Harrison will step down. Harrison will work alongside Oldfield until the end of the year.

Robert Swaak

Job from: ABN Amro CEO

Job to: TBC

Robert Swaak

ABN Amro Bank CEO announced Robert Swaak will step down in the first half of 2025.

Swaak was appointed as CEO of ABN AMRO in April 2020 and was reappointed in April 2024. ABM Amro has started the process of finding a successor. 

Brian Niccol

Job from: CEO, Chipotle Mexican Grill

Job to: CEO, Starbucks Corp.

Brian Niccol

Brian Niccol became CEO of Starbucks Corp on 9 September, having previously been CEO and chairman of Chipotle.

Niccol has almost 20 years of experience in the food industry, having begun his career at Procter and Gamble before working at Yum! brands Pizza Hut and Taco Bell. 

Chabi Nouri

Job from: Private equity partner, Mirabaud Group 

Job to: Global CEO, Bonhams

Chabi Nouri

Chabi Nouri will become Global CEO of Bonhams in October. 

Nouri has worked in the luxury industry for over 20 years, including a stint at Cartier, and was previously CEO of Piaget for seven years. 

Matti Shem Tov

Job from: Operating partner, Lone View Capital 

Job to: CEO, Clarivate

Matti Shem Tov

Matti Shem Tov became CEO of Clarivate on 9 August 9 following former CEO Jonathan Gear’s decision to step down from the company.

Shem Tov has over 30 years of leadership experience, much of it in the technology sector, including stints as CEO of tech firms ProQuest and Ex Libris. 

Alex Williamson

Job from: CEO, Inspiring Learning 

Job to: CEO, Scottish Rugby

Alex Williamson

Former House of Fraser CEO Alex Williamson has been appointed CEO of Scottish Rugby. 

Scottish Rugby’s previous CEO, Mark Dodson, has held the job for 13 years. 

Since 2019, Williamson has been CEO of Inspiring Learning, the UK’s largest provider of adventure camps for children. 

However, Williamson’s background is predominantly in finance, having worked for EY, Warner Music and Emap.
