Leadership changes across IKEA
Over the past two months, IKEA has announced CEO changes in both the Ingka Group - the largest franchise of IKEA that runs the majority of their stores and handles retail operations - and the Inter Group - which owns and develops the IKEA concept.
In August 2025, Jesper Brodin, CEO of Ingka Group, announced he will be stepping down from his role after 30 years at the company.
He is handing the role to his then Deputy CEO Juvencio Maetzu, who posted on LinkedIn at the time of the announcement: “I’m deeply grateful, humble and responsible for the trust and confidence placed in me.”
Jesper said on LinkedIn: “After 30 aspiring years with IKEA, and the recent eight as CEO and President, I have taken the personal decision to step down.
“I am proud of how we, together, have navigated unprecedented challenges across the last years, always guided by our culture and values, while transforming IKEA to an omnichannel retailer with sustainability at our core.”
