Former President of EMEA Google Cloud, Chris Ciauri, has joined the Anthropic Leadership team as Managing Director of International.

This appointment aligns with the US tech company’s goal to accelerate demand for Claude, its Gen-AI assistant, across the globe.

Alongside this key leadership appointment, Anthropic has introduced new international offices across multiple continents, accommodating 100 new roles - continuing the momentum that saw revenue grow from US$87m at the start of 2024 to over US$5bn in August 2025.

Announcing his appointment, Chris shared on LinkedIn: “Really excited that I’m joining Anthropic as Managing Director of International!

“I’m looking forward to working with Paul Smith and the international team as we expand across Dublin, London, Tokyo and Zurich with more to come soon.

“The global demand for enterprise AI is accelerating, and I can’t wait to help more organisations worldwide discover what Claude can do.”

How will the new MD contribute to growth?

Chris brings over 25 years of experience across enterprise technology businesses to Anthropic.

At Salesforce, he helped to scale the business from under US$200m to over US$3bn in revenue during his decade in the role.

Anthropic’s recent Economic Index report found that nearly 80% of consumers who use Claude come from outside the US, with per-capita usage high in South Korea, Australia and Singapore.

With Chris’ experience spanning worldwide coverage, the company says he brings expertise that will help with Claude’s continuing expansion.

Paul Smith, Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), said in a LinkedIn post regarding Chris’ introduction: “The numbers tell the story: 300,000+ business customers globally. Large enterprise accounts growing 7x year-over-year.

“From Novo Nordisk cutting clinical documentation time by 99.9% to Commonwealth Bank reducing scam losses by 50%—enterprises choose Claude when reliability and performance matters most.

“Welcome to the team, Chris Ciauri!”

Leadership growth

This new leadership appointment comes just months after Anthropic appointed its new Chief Commercial Officer, Paul Smith, in July 2025.

Paul brought with him over 30 years of experience at technology companies including Microsoft, Salesforce and ServiceNow.

Daniela Amodei, President of Anthropic, said at the time: “Anthropic has taken a deliberate approach from the beginning - focusing our efforts on AI systems that businesses can trust and deploy at scale.

“Paul’s experience building go-to-market powerhouses at Microsoft, Salesforce and ServiceNow will strengthen our commercial organisation and help more businesses worldwide become AI-native when he starts later this year.”

Paul’s appointment was part of Anthropic’s move to make the company the most trusted AI partner for businesses.
