Siemens Creates Hybrid AI and Human Workforce

Many companies now face a common obstacle when trying to scale industrial AI. Data sits across disconnected systems and experimental pilots rarely translate into measurable business growth.
Siemens has launched Intelligence Center X to address this challenge. The industrial AI orchestration software aims to help organisations transform isolated AI projects into scalable operations that could generate tangible business outcomes.
The platform creates what the company describes as a hybrid workforce where human employees and AI agents operate within unified workflows. Intelligence Center X forms part of the Siemens Xcelerator digital business platform.
Moving from pilots to production
The software consolidates enterprise data and lifecycle context into a single governed system. This approach keeps human workers involved in decision-making processes while AI handles specific operational tasks.
According to Siemens, the platform anchors digital assistants to real workflows rather than standalone tasks. This structure could enable teams across different business functions to collaborate with AI under centralised operational control.
Tony Hemmelgarn, President and CEO of Siemens Digital Industries Software, says: "Intelligence Center X helps organisations move beyond AI experimentation by embedding intelligence directly into everyday workflows, where it can be governed, scaled and trusted."
He adds: "When AI is connected to real business processes and enterprise data, it delivers measurable impact at scale."
Early adopters show efficiency gains
Several customers have deployed the software and reported specific business metrics. According to Siemens, results include a 95% reduction in manual effort and 85% faster production issue resolution.
Vivix Vidros Planos, a flat glass manufacturer in Recife, Brazil, deployed nearly 30 Mendix applications connecting operational technology and IT data. The company integrated systems across SAP S/4HANA, Siemens Industrial Edge and Snowflake.
The manufacturer recaptured 6,000 hours of manual work in one year. Customer complaint resolution time dropped from five days to under one day.
Vivix Vidros Planos built an AI-powered Virtual Engineer on Intelligence Center X with Amazon Bedrock and Claude from Anthropic. The company now plans to advance toward a full digital twin strategy.
Business impact across industries
Aristóteles Terceiro Neto, Industrial Transformation Manager at Vivix Vidros Planos, says: "With this system, we are ready for the agentic future, enabling our people and AI to work together in a more connected and productive way."
Aristóteles notes: "We are already seeing significant enterprise value, including up to four times faster resolution times in quality-related investigations."
Technology distributor Axiz deployed the software as a full agentic enterprise system. The company integrated AI and machine learning modelling capabilities with application development and process orchestration.
Andrew Moodley, Chief Cloud, Digital and Marketing Officer at Axiz, says: "Axiz is among the first enterprises globally to deploy Intelligence Center X as a full agentic enterprise system."
Data integration for scalability
Andrew adds: "Integrating the AI/ML modeling capabilities, application development and process orchestration for an end-to-end pricing use case, Axiz achieved a 95% reduction in manual effort and 100% accuracy in data ingestion."
Intelligence Center X connects industrial data across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and service functions. The software works alongside existing data solutions to enable agentic workflows.
The platform supports integration with data and cloud ecosystem partners including Snowflake. This open approach could allow organisations to maintain existing technology investments while adding AI orchestration capabilities.
Amy Kodl, SVP Worldwide Alliances and Channels at Snowflake, says: "We are genuinely excited about the new capabilities Intelligence Center X brings to Snowflake customers."
Platform architecture and deployment
Amy notes: "It works with their existing Snowflake data, complements capabilities like Snowflake Semantic Views and Cortex AI and shares our relentless focus on being easy, connected and trusted."
The technology combines the Mendix low-code platform with Graph Studio and AI Studio software from the Rapidminer portfolio. This combination creates enterprise context and orchestrated agents.
The software includes auditability and policy controls. Companies can deploy AI-driven applications with full traceability.
Siemens offers three deployment patterns depending on organisational needs:
- Layered on Siemens AI products to amplify lifecycle intelligence with industrial ontologies.
- As a standalone platform for asset-intensive organisations running other operational technology vendors.
- As a pure agentic enterprise platform for financial services, insurance, healthcare, government and retail organisations.
Growth through scalable AI
Tony Hemmelgarn says: "AI only delivers real value when it is embedded in how work gets done. Intelligence Center X brings together enterprise data with industrial ontologies and Siemens' knowledge graph capabilities in a governed environment to empower organisations to apply AI with confidence and achieve consistent, measurable outcomes."
The Intelligence Center X launch represents Siemens' strategy to move businesses past experimental AI pilots. The platform could enable the next phase of industrial AI adoption where organisations scale AI from limited testing environments into production systems that generate measurable business value.
Companies seeking growth through AI implementation may require orchestration platforms that balance innovation with operational control and governance.
